Finally, I’ve got my hands on some good coffee beans after a long time. This time, the coffee addict in me will appreciate that it gets to have a taste of the Belgian wonders!

This time, I am trying the Belgian Blenders.

The Blends

There are 3 different blends that I’ve received – Mild, Imperial, and Gourmet in very handy packaging. You can have a peek of the coffee aroma through the valve on the top from squeezing the bag.

A valve is important for the carbon dioxide to be released from the coffee beans that’s been through the roasting process. Otherwise, the pack will swell up, and the gases will eventually destroy your coffee beans’ qualities.

Grinding the Beans

I did not have a coffee bean grinder, so I had the most economical solution – blender.

I wanted to grind a full bag of coffee beans at once, so my blender actually heated up after a while. I’d recommend you doing the same in small batches if you’re not as impatient as I am.

I started with the Gourmet blend. The blender did a decent job in grinding the beans – they are coarse grinds which is perfect for my Bodum French Press, anything finer will probably escape the mesh filter.
Of course, beans that are too coarse will have all the flavours trapped inside!

The Gourmet Blend is one of their top-blends, with 95% arabica and 5% washed Indian mysore. It is very full-bodied, has a really great, rich taste with a distinctive acidity that will definitely impact your taste buds.

Enjoy a cuppa!
