Coming from a vegetarian family background, it is a never-ending search for vegetarian options for my beloved family members. So when I happened to come across Whole Earth (環界素食), I’ve decided to give this restaurant a try. Since then, I became a loyal patron who visits at least once a month!

Tucked in a corner along the street right outside of Tanjong Pagar MRT, Whole Earth is a must-go restaurant even if you are not a vegetarian.

The Menu
Imperial Beauty Soup 皇家美顏湯 – $13.90

An individual slow-cooked soup, with very natural flavours made from almonds, winter melons, papaya, red dates, vegetarian abalone, vegetarian sharksfin and more.

Not a bad starter, but it was the least favourite of all the dishes I’ve tried.

Whole Earth

Tom Yam Soup 南泰冬炎湯 – $10.9 (S) $17.90 (M)

A standard rich-flavoured tom yam soup with vegetables and mushrooms.

Whole Earth

Olive Fried Rice 香葉炒飯 – $8.90 (S) $13.90 (M)

This is one of my favourites and their signature dish. The rice is so fragrant and every bit has a rich olive taste. Highly recommended!

Whole Earth

5-Spice Ngor Hiang Roll 五香卷 – $13.90

A Peranakan style Ngor Hiang with sweet sauce dip, very unique and flavourful indeed!

Whole Earth

Nyonya Curry 娘惹咖喱 – $20.90

This was everyone’s absolute favourite!

Slow-cooked for 8 hours, this is a thick and smooth curry with shiitake mushrooms and potatoes – so much flavours, you have to try this!

Whole Earth

Handmade Honey Ribs 特製蜜汁排骨 – $27.90

Made with monkeyhead mushrooms, shiitake mushroom, and lotus root, each is hand-rolled and glazed with honey sauce. The taste is so impactful with a crunchy texture!

This dish is sitting right on the top of my favourite dish list of Whole Earth, simply amazing!

Whole Earth

Sambal King 叁峇王 – $16.90

My second most favourite dish has to be this amazing sambal mix of eggplants, okras, long bean, and petai beans.

If you love sambal, you have to try this truly amazing dish!

Whole Earth

Steamed Premium Shiitake Mushroom and Chef’s Special Stuffing – $23.90

This was one of the new dishes that we tried – and loved!

The special stuffing is so fragrant, crunchy, and paired so well with the shiitake mushroom! This dish arrived last as it generally takes longer to prepare, but trust me, it is worth the wait.

Conclusion

Unfortunately, good stuff comes with an unfriendly price tag. Whole Earth does not price the dishes low, but they are not unreasonably high.

If you’re looking to celebrate a birthday and wanting to stay vegetarian, Whole Earth is your choice. Otherwise, come and pamper yourself with a nice meal anytime!

Overall, I had a good dining experience at Whole Earth, with its good atmosphere and service. However during one visit, after payment was done and we were about to leave, we asked for some hot water for the baby’s milk. The staff then insisted that we pay $0.60 for it. It felt rather petty, especially after we’ve paid almost $300 for the meal.
